The Meirionnydd Townhouse, Dolgellau

The Meirionnydd Townhouse hasn’t always been the comfortable and enjoyable place that it is now - up until 1815 the medieval cellar housed the County Jail! Thankfully, for the past one hundred and fifty years or so, the townhouse has provided elegant rooms to stay and an intimate restaurant to dine in.

If you’re staying at The Meirionnydd then you’ll be able to enjoy your breakfast in the townhouse’s original dining room, before making your way out into the beautiful countryside. The Meirionnydd sits in the town of Dolgellau, the southern gateway to Snowdonia National Park. Whether you’re a local that enjoys the park’s natural beauties, or a visitor, then be sure to make a trip to the stunning Mawddach estuary and get some fantastic photos to remember your experience.

Once you’ve enjoyed the scenery you can venture into the hub of The Meirionnydd - their bar! It is a place to go after a long walk around the lakes, or an adventure into the slate caverns. Whilst enjoying your tipple you can browse the menu for your evening meal. And once you’ve chosen, you can make your way down into the reformed cellar to The Meirionnydd’s restaurant - An intimate and comfortable space - perfect for a romantic evening!
