‘Cake Envy’. Those are the words used by High Street Delicatessen owners JoJo and Barrie about their fine produce. And they are highly agreeable words to use, according to the locals of the historic market town, Newtown, mid-Wales. Whether you want to meet a friend for a morning coffee and cake, or you need a pick me up to take away for your afternoon work meeting, you’ll be sure to find something to satisfy your sweet tooth at the delicatessen. Let’s not forget their delicious, warming homemade soups: Carrot, Cashew and Coriander, Hearty Italian Bean and Chunky Moroccan Harira, which will warm you from your head down to your feet on those cold autumn and winter days. As well as their scrumptious foods, JoJo and Barrie also like to stock their delicatessen with a fine range of wines and spirits, which you can try at their tasting evenings, pop-up suppers and seasonal events.
