Foragers Clogau Reserve 2019 Release - 44.7% 70cl

Once a year our beautiful copper distillery produces a limited run of Forager’s Gin. It’s an expression we call the Forager’s Clogau Reserve. A truly exceptional batch of cask-aged gin, made in collaboration with Clogau Gold, and bringing together the award winning spirits of Foragers and the pure Welsh mountain waters that we take from the St David’s Clogau Mine.

 

Crafted from a single handpicked barrel, and yielding 400 bottles only, some of the World’s best wineries are scoured in search for the perfect barrel. A barrel that will bring layers of flavors, a beautiful complexity, and deliver an unrepeatable story. It these qualities that underpin what the Forager’s Clogau Reserve is all about.

 

Time, and patience are key in this process. It is in this sense a piece of history the moment it is bottled. Each barrel is unique. Telling of its own history, from where the oak originally grew, to the cooper who fashioned it into a barrel, and of course the vintage of wine that it stored and matured – ready to give up its flavors one last time. It’s old fashion idea to do something in such a limited-run. But, then some of the best ideas have their roots firmly placed in traditions.

 

This year, the story of Forager’s Clogau Reserve 2019 release, brings the wonderful award-winning flavors from Rene Jolly Champagne – using a carefully selected Pinot Noir barrel that is brimming with history and flavor. Rene Jolly Champagne needs no introduction. An independent Champagne house dating back to 1737, and six generations on, still owned and operated by the Jolly family – now under the expert guidance of Pierre-Eric Jolly.

 

Located in Landreville in the Côte des Bar, south of the Champagne region, Rene Jolly Champagne produces some of the finest award-winning champagnes that capture the terrior, limestone soils, and challenging climate of their home.

 

 

This wonderful, limited run, will officially be launching this on the 12^th December – but it is, while stocks last, available to pre-order now.
